Vegan AdventuresDa Guido La Pasta Melbourne (中英文食記 / 中文下拉)


My friend’s Lisa and Glenn Invited me to their flat for dinner, this isn't my first time going to Lisa and Glenn’s flat therefore I knew Lisa is a great vegan cook, so when I got invited, I was very excited.

Lisa is a sweetie, she knew that I don’t eat raw or cold food, so this time she cooked a 90% vegan menu, an all-you-can eat for me and everyone else!

Let’s go check what dishes she cooked! For our Dinner Lisa has cooked a lot of dishes. Oven baked mushrooms, potatoes and cauliflower- marinated in Cashew nut yoghurt and lemon, Chargrilled Capsicum, fennel, eggplant and Jalapeño peppers, Humous, toasted pita bread, couscous tabouli, Fresh figs, split green olives, silver beet and almonds with garlic and lemon and last but not least a Eggplant, chickpea and tomato tanjine. for more information, see photo descriptions.

前陣子受邀至好友Lisa和Glenn家作客,這讓我相當興奮,因為Lisa是個品味非常好的Vegan home cook,每次去她家吃飯,她總是能做出令人驚喜讚嘆的純素料理。

Lisa知道我也是純素者並且不吃生冷的食物,於是當晚的餐桌上幾乎有九成的料理,通通都是全熟的熱食,貼心的她真的讓我非常感動呢。

I remember in his book, Medium Raw, Anthony Bourdain said something along the lines of, An over ambitious, vegetable-full pasta is usually cheaper than an classic simple pasta, why are we paying the extra money? What are they doing to our food?

Cloudeer is a big pasta fan, but I don’t go out for pasta often because I already know how to make a good pasta, however I just wanted to try a good traditional pasta. Try not over doing the sauce and Fat cheese (feta) please? 

Since March this year, my classmate Andrea — a handsome Italian boy, has told me I must try his uncles restaurant Da Guido La Pasta Melbourne. Andrea makes fresh pasta every morning and said: WE ARE TRUELY AUTHENTIC and we are THE BEST TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RESTAURANT ON LYGON ST. (What he means is, although many try to replicate and create an authentic traditional pasta, many fail in Melbourne.)

I have been to Da Guido La Pasta Melbourne a few times already, usually opting for lunch time because —
a) it is almost always booked out, and

b) they offer an incredible special lunch set for a very generous price, which comes soup (Also home made. Also amazing) a pasta, home made bread (Again. Amazing), a salad as well as a coffee. All for around $24 per person!

c) They don't use any artificial colours and flavouring

I usually older one of two vegetable pastas-Spaghetti with tomato, garlic, extra-virgin olive oil and basil and Fusilli with garden fresh vegetables. Spaghetti with tomato and basil is daily fresh spaghetti pasta with fresh tomato and some good quality salt, then they put fresh basil on the top, that’s all!  Simple and delicious. 
The second is Fusilli with garden fresh vegetables. This pasta consists of fresh Fusilli and zucchini, pumpkin and seasonal vegetables. This dish tastes like a sunny day, very warm and sweet, often reminding me of some great field foods 
I want you to go to their website and take a look for yourself. Have a look at the menu, it really is a good menu, with only ten main courses, showing true confidence in their recipes. 

If you love drinking, I highly recommend a look into the wine list as well!

Cloudieer是義大利麵迷,每週在家裡的廚房煮上兩三道義大利麵是常有的事,所以在外出用餐的日子,除非在「沒有素食的東西」或是「這間餐廳值得一試」的情況下,我通常是不會點義大利麵,一是盡量不吃麵粉跟蛋(新鮮的義大利麵是用蛋跟麵粉製成,純素者跟Gluten free的人要特別注意),二是很怕送上來是冷凍蔬菜的紅醬義大利麵(你永遠不知道)。

今年三月時,班上最英俊的義大利同學Andrea 邀請我去他舅舅的餐廳Da Guido La Pasta Melbourne用餐,他說店裡的義大利麵,是他在每天早晨新鮮現做的,非常美味,同時Andrea也用非常憤怒語氣指Lygon St這條有小義大利街之稱上的店全是假的,只有他們是真正的義大利餐廳。

店裡販售兩種素食的義大利麵,番茄義大利麵傳統麵條配上新鮮打碎的蕃茄與一些好鹽、大蒜、橄欖油,以及一片羅勒,是絕無畫蛇添足、簡單大方的美味;時蔬螺旋麵螺旋麵配上南瓜、櫛瓜與時令蔬菜,這道菜讓我想起南方料理,非常地溫暖,吃下一口溫潤甘美的蔬菜與螺旋麵,你會忍不住幻想它們是從充滿陽光的地方鎖採集而來。

我已經造訪這間店好幾次了,晚上的生意非常好,所以我通常中午來用餐,非常推薦午間特餐:一份義大利麵、濃湯(非常美味)、自製麵包(超讚)、沙拉、咖啡,只要24元。

這間餐廳只販售十道主食,這樣的自信也是我喜歡這裡的原因,去他們的網站看看吧,真是精挑細選出的經典菜單;若你喜歡品酒,我一併推薦他們的酒單,應該說,請他們推薦你餐酒吧!

本單位一向不食用生冷及咖啡,所以我們不點套餐,單點義大利麵仍附贈湯品和自製麵包。

Today we went to Matcha Mylkbar at St Kilda, Macha Mylkbar is a very interesting vegan place, if you happen to be travelling through or live in Melbourne- you should check it out.

I hadn't had coffee for a very long time , because coffee for Chinese medicine, is good for some but unhealthy for others, therefore I don't usually drink it- only if here is a very good coffee please someone has suggested I try- will I try coffee. 

Also I don't drink or eat food that is cold- or less than my body temperature. So I opted to not have the smoothies, however my friend Julian said that it was absolutely stunning and that he would come back for one for sure. 

Next time we can share their main course.

今天下午受朋友之邀,來了位於聖科達海灘區的Matcha Mylkbar純素餐廳探險。

今天之前已聽說Matcha Mylkbar出品的特製拿鐵值得一嚐,翻開菜單果真有特製拿鐵專區,除基本咖啡外,另有約七種不同的調味拿鐵,像是:薑黃、甜菜根、蘑菇、Chai等多種選擇-在墨爾本咖啡不會印在Menu上,通常一坐下店員就會先問你要喝什麼,大家就會在此時先喝一杯餐前咖啡或是茶、果汁,並一邊研究要吃什麼。

其實我很久沒有喝咖啡了,因為咖啡對於中醫來說,並不是每個人都適合,所以在沒有諮詢過醫生的情況下,本部落格也不建議大家作為日常飲用。

所以我這少少的額度,只留給好咖啡和值得一試的咖啡。今天我選了甜菜根杏仁奶拿鐵-咖啡味淡,反而嚐起來有芹菜的味道,十分... 令人難以解釋,(但值得一試)。

本部落格一向推崇不食低於體溫的生冷,所以我沒有下海品嘗這道名為「不好意思」香蕉果昔,不過嘴很挑的友人朱利安說:「非常令人驚艷的好喝,我會因為這杯果昔下次再來。」

所以在此也推薦身體適合生、裸食的朋友這道以香蕉、龍舌蘭糖漿、奇亞籽、枸杞、蜜棗、香草豆、鹹焦糖與杏仁奶所組成的「EXCUSE ME, BUT I FIND YOU VERY APPEALLING」。

Walk Don’t Run是我每週都會去造訪至少一次的咖啡店,是乾淨、友善又讓人放鬆的雅緻空間,這間店最吸引我的是店內食材與飲品皆為100%有機,吃起來能明顯感受到不同。

今天我點了季節特餐—由自製無麩質吐司、水波蛋、松蕈、羽衣甘藍、燉扁豆、綜合香草、白松露油組合而成。因我吃全素,所以照片中是沒有蛋的。我仍非常享受,因為當季的松蕈真是太美味了!

15 minutes Cooking Vegan Simple Recipe / Heathy Fast Guten-Free Vegan Pasta. (中英文食譜 / 中文下拉)

Ingredients:
Serves: 1 person

1 cup Rice Penny
1 cup Broccoli
1 / 3 cup Homemade Vegan Kale Pesto 
2 spoon Good Salt (I use sea salt)
3 spoon Olive Oil ( add more if cooking for more than one )
Dry Chilli (optional)
1 Saucepan

Put water in a kettle and boil.
Wash broccoli and cut into small florets.
Add water and sea salt into the saucepan and boil.
Add the rice penne and cook for 7 Minutes then add the broccoli and cook for a further 3 minutes, then drain all the water from the saucepan.
Using the same saucepan, heat olive oil over a small flaming, waiting until it is hot, then add the pesto.
Mix together and wait until hot (Because we don't eat raw foods, make sure the pesto is fully cooked in this step).
Put penne and broccoli in with the pesto, again- making sure the pesto is entirely cooked and mixed together well.
After 3 minutes, Add some dried chilies if you want, then everything is ready to serve and eat!

一人份
一杯 無麩質義大利麵
一杯 花椰菜
1 / 3 杯 自製羽衣甘藍堅果松子青醬
兩湯匙 好鹽(我用海鹽)
三湯匙 橄欖油 (若是作多人份,油量可自行拿捏,不需要乘以二。)
半茶匙 乾辣椒(可省略)

等待燒水的時間,將花椰菜洗淨切塊。

開中火將滾水和鹽置入鍋中,再度沸騰後加入麵條,設定鬧鐘等待七分鐘,不時要攪動麵條。七分鐘到了,加入花椰菜再煮三分鐘後熄火濾乾水。

開小火並將橄欖油倒入鍋中,熱油後加入自製青醬用拌炒的方式加熱,聽到青醬發出「滋滋」般好吃聲音後加入麵條及花椰菜,拌炒三分鐘後,灑上少許乾辣椒片(可省略)後即可上桌。
